A tragic single-vehicle auto accident resulted in the death of two Harnett County high school students. Early last week, two male teenagers, an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old, were killed when their car hit a tree. According to the highway patrol, the 16-year-old driver drove around a curve on Ash Avenue at 80 mph, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into two trees. Authorities report the teenager was trying to pass another car. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene of the crash. The teen passenger was wearing his seatbelt but later died at the hospital. This past Saturday, the parents of the 18-year-old senior accepted his diploma from at Triton High School.
