On February 26, a 23-year-old woman was killed in a hit and run accident and the driver has now been arrested. The driver, a 24-year-old man, was fleeing police when he struck the woman who was attempting to cross the street near the intersection of Lucas and Hunt and Natural Bridge Road. A police officer was attempting to make a traffic stop when the man sped away and ran a red light causing the fatal accident. He then continued to flee police and did not stop at the scene of the accident. Fortunately, police were able to locate the driver and he has been arrested. His bond has been set at $100,000.
Hit and run accidents claim the lives of innocent victims and cause millions of dollars in damages every year. Drivers may leave the scene of an accident in an attempt to avoid any financial or criminal consequences. Unfortunately, when drivers cause a hit and run crash they are not concerned with the wellbeing of others, but only their self. Many insurance companies make it difficult for victims to recover the compensation they deserve when the driver is unknown. However, with the representation of an experienced auto accident attorney, you may be able to recover the maximum compensation.
