On Saturday afternoon, a single-vehicle auto accident resulted in the death of one individual and injured five others. All six people were traveling in an SUV along Highway N in Franklin County when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Salabay Road. A Sergeant with the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the vehicle traveled off the roadway, overturned, and collided with a tree at approximately 3 p.m. The two adults in the SUV were females and were both ejected during the accident. One of the women was pronounced dead, and the other was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital, along with two children. The other remaining occupants were also children who suffered injuries in the crash. The Patrol is continuing to investigate the accident to determine a cause.
