A toddler is dead, and the mother is in serious condition after a tragic pedestrian accident in Chicago Sunday afternoon. According to Chicago Police, a 2-year-old boy and a 39-year-old woman were struck by a van in Chicago’s Jefferson Park neighborhood. The 2-year-old boy died at the scene, and the woman is recovering in the hospital. Witnesses told police that the driver of the van was trying to make a turn at the time. Police say the driver of the van stayed at the scene of the accident and was later taken into custody. Police say the driver who hit them is facing charges. The names of the victims have not been released, and the accident is still under investigation.
