Two hit-and-run drivers left two victims in a double pedestrian accident in St. Louis City. A woman was hit by a driver who fled the scene, and the man who went to her aid was also struck by a second driver who then fled the scene. According to police, a woman was crossing the street in the 7900 block of North Broadway just prior to 1:30 a.m. when a vehicle speeding struck her. A man witnessed the accident and attempted to help the woman when he was struck by a second vehicle which was also speeding down North Broadway. Police say the second vehicle also left the scene.
Authorities say both victims were taken to a nearby hospital. Officials say the woman died from her injuries sustained in the crash. Police are aggressively searching for the two hit-and-run drivers.
