An Illinois man was killed in a motorcycle accident in Jersey County on Monday. According to police, the accident happened on Lockhaven Road and Illinois Route 100. Authorities say a northbound Ford truck crossed into the path of a motorcycle. The motorcycle hit the truck and eject both driver and passenger. The driver of the motorcycle was a 58-year-old Caseyville man who died at the scene of the crash. The passenger was a 55-year-old Caseyville woman who was seriously hurt and transported by helicopter to a hospital where she remains in a critical state. The 24-year-old driver of the truck was uninjured, and police say he was cited for failing to yield at an intersection. The accident is still under investigation, and northbound Illinois Route 100 was closed for several hours.
