A fatal motorcycle crash occurred in Columbus on Sunday around 8:14 at night. The accident occurred on Harrisburg-Georgesville Road when a motorcycle that was traveling northbound crossed over the center line, which led to a collision with a minivan that was traveling southbound. Tragically, the two people that were riding the motorcycle passed away at the scene of the accident. The were not wearing helmets. Additionally, the person that was riding in the mini-van was taken to receive medical care for their injuries, which were minor. The accident is still being investigated for further information.
Since motorcycles do not provide their passengers with the same level of protection that cars provide their passengers with, they can be dangerous. While riding on a motorcycle, it is important that passengers take caution and wear helmets. In the case of an accident, helmets greatly reduce the risk of fatality and injury for both operators and passengers.
