Luckily, only a house was damaged when a pickup truck crashed into a Round Lake Beach home on Saturday night. Round Lake Beach is a north suburb outside of Chicago. Police say the crash happened about 9:50 p.m. when a truck crashed into a house in the 1300 block of North Brentwood. Fire crews from Round Lake Fire Department received the call and responded to the accident.
According to the Round Lake Fire Department, the pickup drove almost completely into the house, with only about a foot remaining outside of the home. The Fire Department Chief stated it could have been a major accident if someone was home in the house at the time of the crash. It was determined by the structural collapse team from Lake and McHenry counties that the house would not fall. It is unknown if the driver of the pickup truck will be charged or if alcohol played a role in the crash. Witnesses say the damages is extensive.
