Four students were injured when a school bus overturned in North Carolina earlier this month. According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the school bus driver is facing charges. Officials say the bus slid off a road and into a ditch, overturning with four students inside ranging from ages 8 to 10-years-old. The accident happened just before 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday near Belmont in Gaston County. Troopers say the bus driver is charged with careless and reckless driving. Police say the bus driver was driving too fast for the road condition which consisted of light rain at the time of the accident. Authorities say the students and driver were able to escape through the bus’ rear doors. The spokesperson for the Gaston County Schools said that all of the children are recovering with only minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
