A New York Mom was surprised when she opened up a package from a toy company only to find around 7 pounds of pot instead. The package came from JAKKS Pacific which is based in Santa Monica, California. The smell before opening the package was concerning, and she knew something wasn’t right. She reviewed children’s toys and clothes for a blog and said she has opened around 3,500 and this is the strangest by far. Police confiscated the drugs and are looking into the incident. The company said that they are conducting their investigation into the matter.
Companies have a responsibility to provide safe and reliable products to consumers. Not only is this alarming but dangerous as well. What would have happened if the woman’s children had opened the package and digested the contents? Luckily that was not the case, but this is still concerning. The company could be liable for any injuries or illnesses it causes. Consumers are protected by product liability laws and if this did injure or cause illness to someone they should contact an attorney immediately. An experienced product liability or personal injury attorney will assess your claims and determine if you have grounds to pursue legal action. The liable party should be responsible for any injury that the victims incur.
