A Long Island Rail Road train slammed into a terminal in Brooklyn injuring over a hundred people. The train was packed with 650 people on the morning commute when it plowed into a metal bumper that’s designed to keep it on the track. The riders weren’t sure what had happened, but the glass was shattered, people were bleeding, and smoke was everywhere. Police believe the accident to be human error but are investigating other possible situations. The train was going between 10-15 mph when it crashed. Authorities said the injuries were mostly minor with one personal receiving a broken leg.
Accidents injure thousands each year and can be very scary for those involved. Just like this accident the passengers and maybe even the driver had no idea that they were going to slam into a terminal. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured other than a broken leg, but it could have been a lot worse. Injuries sustained in accidents can cost the victim thousands of dollars in medical bills, therapy, and even home modifications if the injuries are severe. How will you or your loved one pay for these bills? If you suffer an injury during an accident at no fault of your own, you might be liable for compensation.
