A multi-vehicle accident left all lanes of eastbound Interstate 64 closed on Monday afternoon. According to authorities, the accident occurred after 1:00 p.m. on eastbound I-64, just past Vandeventer Avenue. The Missouri Department of Transportation closed two left lanes on the highway causing bumper-to-bumper traffic for several hours. Two people were reportedly injured in the accident, stemming from a chain reaction caused by a distracted driver. Officials say two people were transported to a nearby hospital and one driver is in critical condition. The other driver is now in stable condition. The accident is still under investigation, according to officials.
