1 Million Vehicles Recalled by BMW

|

A potential for vehicle fires has prompted a recall by the automaker BMW of North America. The company has issued two separate recalls that include one million vehicles. The recalls are for a valve heater and the heating and air conditioning wiring and electrical connectors. The recall is for vehicles manufactured from 2006 to 2011 and includes numerous models. The recall occurred after ABC News featured a story on how many BMW owners vehicles were bursting into flames while parked. Sometimes even for days without being used. BMW owners are encouraged to go to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administrations’ website to determine if their vehicle is included in the recall.

It is not uncommon for residents of the United States to learn about a recall nearly daily from media outlets. Recalls for food items, toys, vehicles, and other miscellaneous products occur frequently due to some type of defect. Tragically, many of these recalls occur after more than one consumer has suffered an injury or death. All companies are required by law to manufacture a product that is safe for consumers. Above being safe, the product must contain warning labels for any potential issues with the item. However, many recalls occur because an individual is injured, becomes ill, or even dies due to the negligence of a manufacturer. If you have suffered an injury or lost a loved one due to an unsafe product, it is important to contact an experienced personal injury attorney.
