The Rocky Mountain Bicycle company has recalled around 1,300 mountain bikes due to crash hazards. The company reported that the brake cable was not properly secured during manufacturing and can cause the brake to fail. The 2018 Altitude, Instinct and Pipeline bicycles were all sold in various colors but the model name is printed on the tube stickers on the top tube of the bike. The company urges consumers to discontinue use immediately and contact a Rocky Mountain dealer for a free inspection and free repair. The bicycles were sold in 2017 between June through November.
Bicycle accidents are on the rise in the United States with an estimated $5.2 billion annual cost for injuries sustained in those accidents. Faulty bicycle equipment not only poses a danger to the cyclist but other pedestrians as well. Regulations are put into place to ensure consumer safety and it is the responsibility of the company to alert all consumers of any issues with their products. Injuries due to faulty or defective products can become costly, may require time off of work and lost wages, cause unnecessary stress and may require home construction for any permanent injuries. This can cause the injured person to feel overwhelmed and not sure where to start. If you or a loved one is injured by a faulty product always contact a product liability attorney to discuss your options. An attorney can be instrumental in helping you receive compensation for any injuries you have sustained and help ease the stress and burden of your injuries.
