American Honda is recalling around 34,000 portable generators due to possible fire and burn hazards. The company reported that gasoline can leak from the carburetor which can catch fire or burn consumers. Models EB2800i and EG2800i are being recalled and have a front red cover with a black metal frame. The EB model has a silver control panel and the EG has a black control panel with “HONDA” and the model number printed on the control panel. Honda urges consumers to stop using any recalled generator immediately and contact an authorized Honda Power Equipment dealer for a free inspection and repair. They have received reports of 28 generators that have leaked fuel but have not received reports of fires or injuries. These were sold through authorized dealers and nationwide Home Depot stores for around $1,150 from September 2016 through November 2017.
